About Melanie
Melanie started taking ballet at age 6 at the Ruth Page Dance School in Chicago. She trained at Ruth Page throughout her childhood taking ballet, hip-hop, jazz and tap. Throughout high school, she continued to dance in musicals at Parker including in Grease as Frenchie and in the Boys from Syracuse. At Northwestern, Melanie was a member of Graffiti Dancers and also was cast as a dancer in Wa-Muu. Melanie continued to take hip hop dance classes as an adult and discovered Zumba - Latin dance fitness - about 10 years. She’s became certified as a Zumba instructor in February of 2019. In March 2020, Melanie started teaching Zumba virtually and has teaching for fun ever since! She’s taught over 100 virtual Zumba classes this year and is excited to share the experience with the Parker community! No experience necessary - just the desire to move and groove and have fun!
